Dr. Justin’s Story…

….They all rushed in threw her legs up in the stirrups and had her start pushing. After about 10 minutes with my wife pushing the doctor said, “this is taking way too long and reach over and grabbed the scalpel and with a hack saw motion he cut her and like a stretch t-shirt that is cut she tore wide open. The head started to crow so he grabbed the head and used it as a lever. I was thinking what the heck is going on? What is he doing to my wife.. my baby? He started to pull harder and twisted up, down, right, left and then we heard the unthinkable a loud …POP….

The nurse in the back getting ready for the baby gasped…the doctor looked at me standing with his jaw to the floor “I think I broke her clavicle don’t worry it is very common during delivery.” I was stunned. I could feel the anger inside of me “I did not know if I should hit the doctor or just cry.”  Once the baby was born at 1:01 pm. The doctor handed my baby girl to the nurse who took her away to check the fracture and thankfully there was not a broken clavicle….What a relief I thought. After all the aftermath was done my wife and I now have a baby. This is supposed to be a happy time for us but it was miserable. Our baby girl would not eat, poop, sleep, and screamed all the time. The pediatrician said it was perfectly normal and she will get the hang of it. It did not get any better… in fact it got worse.

I remember walking into the living room after school and my wife came out of the bedroom to meet me and said “If this is what it is like to be a mom I do not want to be one.” I knew I needed to do something so I held our baby girl in my arms all night in the rocker so my wife could get some sleep. I sat in the chair crying because I did not know what to do. My mind started drifting and the following thoughts came into my head. We have done everything we thought was best. We took her to the pediatrician and got diagnosed with colic. We left the office with a printed article from the internet on how to take care of a colicky baby and $150 less in our pocket. What else is there?

The following day I found myself on the internet researching how to help colicky babies. As I was searching I came across several chiropractic stories just like mine that were helped with chiropractic. The more stories I read I felt as if I was reading my story. I sat back and thought to myself seriously chiropractic… chiropractic is for neck and back pain. A little while later I told my wife what the heck we have tried everything else let’s give this a try and see what happens.

We took her to a local chiropractor who took the time to hear our story, our frustrations and explained step-by-step what he was going to do. As I watched him adjust my daughter (yes I was nervous) Right after the adjustment I saw the light and life come back into my daughters eyes. Her lazy eye became straight. I was in awe watching this miracle happen right before my eyes. I then picked up my daughter and felt her body in a state of relaxation that I have never felt before. Then the chiropractor said we cannot help the kid unless we also help the mother too. As my wife was getting adjusted I held my baby girl looking into her eyes and seeing life… I then felt an overwhelming impression that I need to be a chiropractor. I need to SAVE * CHANGE * TRANSFORM lives like this chiropractor has done for me and my family.

This is “WHY” I became a chiropractor. This is “WHY” I do what I do. I have learned many things since become a lifestyle wellness chiropractor but what I can tell you is my mission to help as many families get well and staying well for a lifetime using our NEXT Level Program. My promise to you is I will help you… We may find out I am the doctor you for you or we will find out I am not the right doctor for you and I will find the right doctor to help you.
